The Economics and Finance Research Group (Academy of Finance, Vietnam) and the Hathaway Policy Group proudly present a seminar on "A historical walk through financial reforms in the United States" with our speaker Dang Du.
This talk will focus on the history of financial reforms in the United States and how it has shaped the country’s financial system and economic landscape. Since America’s founding, each effort to overhaul the rules of the game were an urgent response to a devastating banking and financial crisis of its time, which drove the trajectory of the American financial system over subsequent decades. Those changes helped foster the rise of the modern banking system and financial markets. However, as markets evolve, technological innovations spread, and new risks emerge, financial rules currently in place tend to break down, leading to market failures and ensuing crises.
